Packing for a holiday in a luxury VW T6.1 campervan is all about maximizing space without sacrificing comfort. If you are planning campervan hire in the Midlands, our fully equipped conversions come fitted with integrated kitchenettes, diesel heating, and elevating roofs, meaning half your preparation is already done.
However, bringing the right personal items ensures a seamless, stress-free road trip from the moment you collect your vehicle near Coventry. Here is our ultimate packing checklist for your next adventure.
Essential Clothing & Footwear
When traveling in a campervan, soft luggage bags or duffel bags are far better than hard suitcases because they fold flat and store easily in overhead cupboards.
- Layered Clothing: British weather can be unpredictable, so bring breathable layers alongside warmer fleeces for chilly evenings.
- Waterproof Outerwear: Sturdy walking boots and lightweight rain jackets are essential for exploring trail walks across the Peak District or Cotswolds.
- Slide-on Shoes or Slippers: Quick-off shoes make stepping inside the campervan living area clean and effortless.
Kitchen & Food Essentials
While your campervan includes a gas hob, fridge, and sink, packing these basic consumables ensures smooth cooking on the go:
- Pantry Staples: Cooking oil, salt, pepper, tea bags, coffee, and basic spices.
- Compact Living Items: Microfibre towels (fast-drying and space-saving), kitchen roll, and eco-friendly washing-up liquid.
- Reusable Water Bottles: Essential for day hikes and outdoor excursions.
Electronics & Leisure Gear
Our VW campervans feature onboard leisure batteries, solar panels, and USB charging ports to keep your tech powered up.
- Charging Cables: Bring extra-long USB cables for convenience while relaxing on the RIB bed.
- Outdoor Illumination: Headtorches or portable lanterns for late-night campsite walks.
- Campsite Entertainment: Cards, board games, or downloaded offline playlists for cozy evenings indoors.
